I recently experienced the joy of an electrical storm, and found myself searching for a company that can restore the data somehow. I know it's possible to transfer the platters to another, working hard drive casing, but since this requires a clean room, I also realize that it's an expensive process. Requesting a quote from Staples tech services, I learned it would cost around $1499 per hard drive. "Yikes!", thought I. Another local, mom-and-pop computer store quoted me around $192 per drive for just an analysis, then somewhere between $500 and $2800 per drive. "Double Yikes!". I hope the insurance company will cover all of this.

I have since then learned of a company in, or near, St. Petersburg, FL, that can do the job for around $300-$500 per drive. Still a little "yikes" pops out, but much more within reason. The trouble is, I can't seem to locate this vendor, so if anyone out there can point me to their site, or recommend another company, please let me know.

Thanks!
